I've been a fan of Elizabeth Bauman for a while now, but I realized this afternoon that I have not yet written about her work! I find her images beautiful and haunting.
I love this original painting called The Long Wait, for lots of reasons. I love the hazy quality of it. I love the shadow of the dog on the wall, a lot. It might be my favorite detail. I love the lady's perfectly green dress. And I love the mysterious sort of narrative. Who or what is she waiting for? We may never know. Or perhaps only we can answer that question...?
